CubeTimer Community Guidelines
These guidelines cover CubeTimer's optional Sharing feature: your display name, profile photo, friend requests, the weekly leaderboard and the daily challenge. You agree to them when you create a Sharing profile, and the app asks you again whenever they change. If you do not agree, do not use Sharing; the timer and everything else in the app keep working without it.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Offending names and photos are removed, and the accounts behind them can be deleted without warning.
Not allowed
In your display name, your profile photo, or anything else you send through Sharing:
- Sexual or pornographic content, or nudity.
- Hate speech, slurs, or attacks on people because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other identity.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves.
- Graphic violence, or promoting violence, terrorism or extremist groups.
- Anything illegal, or promoting illegal drugs, weapons or gambling.
- Pretending to be CubeTimer, its developer, Apple, or another person.
- Spam, advertising, or personal information such as phone numbers and addresses, yours or anyone else's.
- Results you did not get fairly, such as made-up times on the leaderboard or the daily challenge.
How names are checked
Every new display name is checked on the server against a list of words that are not allowed, including common misspellings and look-alike characters. A name that matches cannot be saved. The check cannot catch everything, which is why reporting exists.
What you can do
- Block someone from their row in your friends list or from a friend request. Blocking removes the friendship and stops them sending you requests. They are not told.
- Report someone from the same places, choosing a reason such as an offensive name or photo, harassment, or spam, and adding a note if you like. They are not told who reported them.
- Remove a friend at any time.
- Email huangdgm@gmail.com about anything the app does not let you report.
What happens to reports
I review every report within 24 hours. When content breaks these guidelines I remove it, and I delete the account of anyone who posts objectionable content or harasses other users. I may also act on content that nobody has reported. If your name or photo is removed and you think that was a mistake, email me.
Changes
If these guidelines change in a way that matters, the version number above goes up and the app asks you to agree again before showing you anything shared.
